Should we build an ark?

Today we were subject to a large rainstorm. There is water coming out of places we’ve never seen and the creek has risen close to three feet in depth and much farther than that in width in some places. If you’ve never been here the pictures probably won’t suffice, but here you go anyway.

The chickens and sheep were involuntarily relocated. The water rose above the egg boxes, according to a report I received.

Thats the driveway, er, was, and that ditch normally is bone dry, whereas now we have another creek!

Looks wet. Hopefully no mud will result from this.

Hello from your sister church in Aurora Texas! This is elder Garry Mayes’ wife Florence. Garry sent me a link to the deliberate agrarian blog a week ago, and through it I found your blog and many from your church members. I was trilled because I have been researching agrarianism, self-sufficiency …. lately, and now I can’t wait to meet you all at presbytery ( I was looking forward to presbytery before that of course ; ) ! I have two blogs which are brand new, texasurbanhomestead.blogspot.com and recycledclothing.blogspot.com
We are just starting to try and make our 1/3 acre small town lot productive.
Wow while I was typing this the worst hail storm I have ever seen swept through! The hail was only quarter size, but it poured down in a thick blanket mixed with pouring rain! Flowers and tree leaves are shredded, but somehow my vegetable garden is ok. I took pictures the whole time (while I was telling the girls to stay away from the windows) which will go on my blog ; )
Lots of sirens afterwards though.
Looking forward to meeting you all,
Florence Mayes
